Use of BaF2 scintillators as γ-ray detectors

Description
The discovery of an intense, fast component of the light pulse from BaF2 crystals suggests several applications of such detectors in connection with the detection of γ-rays. The energy and time resolutions of a medium sized BaF2 scintillator have been investigated, and the preliminary results are reported here
