Fabrication of Ag absorber-used normal metal-insulator-superconductor tunnel junction and measurement of its I-V characteristics
Description
A normal metal absorber-insulator-superconductor (NIS) junction detector has two advantages: faster time constant than a transition edge sensor (TES) micro-calorimeter and easier operation than a superconductor insulator superconductor (SIS) junction detector. With the Ag absorber, which absorption coefficient is five times larger than Cu absorber, we fabricated NIS tunnel junctions for the detection of X-ray and measured the current-voltage curves. (T.
