Theoretical investigation of the CuKα1,2-line temperature shift in the high-Tc ceramics

  • 1. AN SSSR, Novosibirsk (Russian Federation). Inst. Neorganicheskoj Khimii

Description

With a change of the temperature from 300 to 80 K the CuKα1<2-line energy of the high-Tc superconductor YBa2Cu3O6.8 shifts by about 0.35 eV towards a shorter wavelength. Calculations of the Kα-line energies of copper in different valence states permit to conclude that there is a decrease in the 4s and an increase in the 3d density of states on the Cu atom of the high-Tc superconductor on going from 300 to 80 K.
