Development of measuring tritium ionization chamber to resist interference of environmental radon

  • 1. China Institute for Radiation Protection, Taiyuan (China)

Description

To increase the detection sensitivity of the ionization chamber in measuring environment tritium, a kind of measuring tritium ionization chamber is developed which can identify radon in the air. The ionization chamber adopts parallel plate type wire plane measuring tritium ionization chamber and parallel plate aluminum airtight chamber with plating polyester film window to measure radon. This design has strong ability to identify environmental radon, can monitor tritium in the high radon concentration environment. The experimental results show that the measuring tritium ionization chamber for tritium response of the linear correlation coefficient is 96.54%; In the radon environment, screening of radon compensation is 98.83%; The relative error of measured values and the agreed value is not greater than 40%.
