Effect of uniconazole waterless-dressing seed on root growth and absorption capacity of wheat
- 1. Sichuan Agricultural Univ., Yaan (China). College of Agronomy
Description
The effects of uniconazole waterless-dressing seed on root growth and absorption capability of wheat were studied by the field experiments and soil column culture. The results indicated that uniconazole promoted root growth, increased fresh root weight per plant, kept higher root amount from booting stage to later filling stage than the control, increases SOD activity, reduces MDA content in root and raises root vigor after booting stage, delays root senescence. The concentration, 20 mg/kg, was the best of all treatments. Uniconazole treatments increases root vigor, absorbed more 32P and distributed more 32P to tillers than that the control. (authors)
