A report on the OECD (AEN) Crest specialist meeting on the anti-seismic design of nuclear plants - Pisa (Italy), october 1972

Creators

Description

The meeting comprised four main parts: definition of the design basis earthquake (faulting problems); soil responses; soil investigation and soil-structure interaction; structural problems. Attention was mainly focused on geological and soil behaviour issues, and discussions were essentially focused on the deterministic definition of design basis earthquake. Papers were concerned with seismology, faults, prediction results in various countries, and correlation validity for a local movement of the soil. Probability aspects were also discussed
