On-pile facilities for testing fuel elements and assemblies under accident and transient operational conditions

Description

In-pile test facilities for investigating the NPP fuel element and fuel assembly behaviour under accident and transient operational conditions are described. It is shown that apart from developing and creating specialized multi-mode in-pile facilities the available reactors for engineer tests are widely used and adjusted to these prblems. Basic requirements to test facility characteristics and basic principles of safe organization of such tests are generalized
