Preliminary consideration of the modification of the SGEMP response of a triaxial satellite due to electron clouds

  • 1. Mission Research Corp., 735 State St., P.O. Drawer 719, Santa Barbara, CA 93102

Description

In SGEMP experiments, extraneous electrons are emitted from the walls and damper of the vacuum tank. This paper examines the effect of these electron clouds on the electromagnetic modal response of satellites by considering a simple LC network model of a mode. The results suggest that substantial frequency and damping increases may occur in high-fluence experiments
