Description
Two-particle differential cross sections of p1 and p2 fast proton emission in proton-nucleus interactions at 640 MeV are given. The protons were recorded in the energy range 265 MeV<T1(T2)<340 MeV by two identical telescopes of scintillation counters with the space angle 7 msr. To reduce detector loading at small angles with respect to the beam the telescope axes were inclined to the beam plane at 12 deg. Pion recording was suppressed by utilization of threshold Cherenkov counters. The background of accidental coincidences and counting without the target are measured and subtracted while data processing. The experimental data are compared with the cascade model predictions and calculations in the framework of the phenomenological scattering model on nucleus-target nucleon pairs. The conclusion is made about existence of the kinematic region, where emission of two protons is mainly caused by quasi-free scattering of correlated nucleon pairs
