High Tc YBa2Cu3O7-δ superconductors made by the melt-quench growth process

Description
We have prepared Ag-free and Ag-added YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCO) samples by melt processing. It is found that samples made by the melt-quench growth process developed in this study show the most improved superconductive properties as compared with other melt processing methods such as melt-quench-powder-melt growth, melt-textured growth (MTG) or modified MTG. The results of resistive measurements showed improvement of the transition temperature Tc by the addition of Ag to the YBCO sample. ((orig.))
