Direct radionuclide cystogram (DRCG) and urine flowmetry (UFMT) in the evaluation of patients with vesicoureterval reflux (VUR) and/or associated obstructive or neurogenic pathology of the lower urinary tract

  • 1. All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (India). Dept. of Nuclear Medicine and Dept. of Pediatric Surgery

Description

Adequate clinical evaluation of patients with difficulty in micturition and vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) remains a challenging subject in investigative medicine. Direct radionuclide cystography and urineflowmetry (DRCG-UFMT) by the suprapubic puncture technique is an excellent radionuclide procedure, which avoids emptying and refilling of the urinary bladder. This communication is an analysis of DRCG-UFMT studies conducted in children suffering from kidney and urinary tract pathology. (author). 19 refs., 5 figs
