Developing an eddy current system to measure steam generator PWSCC [primary water stress corrosion cracking]
Description
Accurate sizing of primary water stress corrosion cracking (PWSCC) in steam generator tubes poses a particular challenge to eddy current inspection techniques. Excellent results have however recently been achieved at Ringhals in Sweden using an innovative signal processing technique. The data processing system, which has been used in the inspection of over 25000 installed tubes in nuclear plants, is described. (author)
