Description

Time-of-flight system for energy loss measurement at particle scattering with ∼103 resolution, based on separation of individual particles at scanning by continuous beam along a small hole in a screen, is described. The modulated beam counting rate by means of a microchannel plates detector, constitutes 102-104 s-1, depending on system tuning. The detected events processing and spectra construction are carried out by a multichannel analyser (the number of channels is up to 1024, minimum channel width is 0.05 ns), based on microcomputer and CAMAC system modules. The system may be used for measuring energy loss in charge exchange processes, at particle passing through fine foils and particle scattering by solid surfaces
