System for multiprogram control of a specialized computer for geophysical investigations

The paper describes the microprogrammed control device of a specialized computer for solving problems of the cyclical type (especially those involving a system of linear algebraic equations) in which the functions of an instruction storage unit are distributed between an address directory and an operational group switch. This made it possible to combine in a single instruction a group of elementary operations over a few numbers and eventually led to a simplification of the operational logic of the device. (author)
