If you like low PT multiparticle physics, you'll love nucleus-nucleus interactions or DO ET distributions obey knoscaling in high energy pp and nucleus-nucleus collisions

Description

Measurements of neutral transverse energy spectra in p-p, d-d and α-α interactions at the CERN ISR are presented. The source of transverse energy is the emission of relatively low PT particles distributed uniformly. Analysis of the αα data in terms of multiple nucleon-nucleon collisions is most convenient when gamma distributions are used to represent the spectral shapes. This distribution bears a strong relationship to the Negative Binomial Distribution which describes multiplicity distributions in pp and pantip interactions over the full available energy range. Extensive analysis of the data is presented in terms of Nuclear Models. However, the best fit to the pp and αα data is a single Gamma distribution scaled by the mean value. This property is also known as KNO scaling
