Thallium magnesium zirconium molybdate Tl5Mg0.5Zr1.5(MoO4)6: synthesis, crystal structure, and properties

Description
The Tl2MoO4-MgMoO4-Zr(MoO4)2 system has been investigated using X-ray powder diffraction and differential thermal analysis in its subsolidus region. Single crystals of ternary molybdate Tl5Mg0.5Zr1.5(MoO4)6 have been grown. Its composition and crystal structure have been refined using X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystals are trigonal with a = b 10.616(1) A, c = 37.959(6) A, Z = 6 and space group R3c. A three-dimensional mixed framework is formed by two kinds of Mo tetrahedrons and (Mg, Zr) octahedrons linked together through shared vertices. Three kinds of thallium atoms occupy large cavities of the framework. Distribution of Mg2+ and Zr4+ over crystallographic positions is refined

Методами рентгенофазового и дифференциального термического анализов изучена система Tl2MoO4-MgMoO4-Zr(MoO4)2 в субсолидусной области. Выращены монокристаллы тройного молибдата Tl5Mg0.5Zr1.5(MoO4)6 и методом рентгеноструктурного анализа уточнены его состав и кристаллическая структура. Кристаллы тригональные, a = b = 10.616(1), c = 37.959(6) A, Z = 6, пр. гр. R3c. Трехмерный смешанный каркас структуры образован двумя сортами Мо-тетраэдров и (Mg, Zr)-октаэдров, соединяющихся через общие вершины. Атомы таллия трех сортов занимают большие полости каркаса.
