Structural and electrical properties of PZT(La, Bi) ceramics

Description
Lanthanum and bismuth modified lead zirconate titanate (PLBZT) of composition Pbsub(0.93)(Lasub(l-x)Bix)sub(0.07) (Zrsub(0.65)Tisub(0.35)O3 (where x = 0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7) have been synthesized by a chemical method. Preliminary X-ray structural study of the compound shows the formation of rhombohedral structure. Studies of the dielectric permittivity and dissipation factor (tan δ) as a function of temperature suggest that the compounds has relaxor behaviour and undergoes a diffuse type of phase transition.
