Environmental aspects of americium

Description

The environmental behavior of americium has been investigated using the fallout background source. Measurements have been made of 241Am concentrations in soil, plants, diet and man, and theoretical procedures have been developed to describe the movement of americium along the pathways from input into the environmental to man. All samples were also analyzed for fallout plutonium to compare the behavior of these actinide elements
