Some applications of CdZnTe gamma-ray spectrometers

Description
New semiconductor CdZnTe based γ-radiation detectors were used for radiation measurements of spent fuel assemblies in fuel storage pools and dry storages, non-irradiated nuclear materials and radioactive wastes. Results of the analysis and comparison with other types of detectors are presented. Possible fields of the CdZnTe based detectors application are determined. The advantage belongs to the CdZnTe detectors in the conditions that not to demand high resolution and the main factor is simplicity of service and compactness

Новые полупроводниковые детекторы γ-излучения на основе CdZnTe использовали для измерений излучения отработавших ТВС в бассейнах выдержки и сухих хранилищах, необлученных ядерных материалов и радиоактивных отходов. Проведены анализ результатов и сравнение с другими типами детекторов. Определены возможные области применения детекторов на основе CdZnTe. В условиях, когда не требуется высокое разрешение, а главным является простота эксплуатации и компактность, преимущество принадлежит CdZnTe-детекторамAdditional details
