Summary of the dimensioning verification studies of the Phebus-FP experiments

Description
As preparation for the Phebus-FP project a set of scoping calculations were performed in order to check how well Phebus-FP is able to represent a severe accident sequence in a light water reactor. This report summarizes those calculations that deal with the coolant circuit between the bundle and containment vessel. Many calculations were performed by many different organizations and it was found that, although there was considerable quantitative disagreement, it was possible to simulate a severe accident sequence in Phebus-FP. Recommendations are made concerning the conduct of the test and deficiencies in the codes used to calculate the phenomena are pointed out
