This paper is a retrospective analysis of 598 cases of cancer of the glottis and supraglottis treated either in air or in the Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber at St. Bartholomew's Hospital over the period 1963 -1986. It was decided to concentrate on head and neck cancer, and within this region to select carcinomas of the glottis and supraglottis. (author)
