Incompatibility of RSG-GAS reactor operation on core 92 with a maximum power of 30 MW

Description

The testing result of reactor operation with maximum power of 30 MW causes the difference between recurred power which is 30 MW, with the result of reactor power calibration which is 28.008 MW, it raises a question and needs a study to answer. The study method was conducted by taking data of reactor power calibration started from the power of 15 MW to the maximum power 30 MW. The result of the study shows: firstly, the used preliminary data of reactor power conversion referring to previous reactor operation at the power of 15 MW by using 4 blower of secondary cooling system, meanwhile on reactor operation with maximum power of 30 MW using 7 blowers of secondary cooling system. Secondly, the result of reactor power calibration on each certain level power is not used to adjust parameter value of old reactor power, with the safety reason, caused of the reactor power is not stable yet and feared that reactor operation would overshoot safety limits. Conclusion, to guarantee the reactor operation securely and safety at maximum power of 30 MW, it is must to do reactor operation at the power of 15 MW at first by using 6 or 7 blowers of secondary cooling system until the stable reactor power is reached, next, calibration of reactor power is carried out and the result is used as reference. To get to know the compatibility of reactor power on each step or on certain power level, it is a must to do reactor power calibration and the result shows the real reactor power. (author)
