Description
The Micro-Vertex-Detector (MVD) is the innermost detector part of the PANDA experiment, one of the key projects at the future FAIR facility at GSI, Darmstadt. A flexible software simulation inside the PandaRoot framework has been set up to support the ongoing hardware and detector design developments for the MVD. Aside from the application of particle transport codes like Geant it features a realistic detector emulation and reconstruction code which is supposed to be applied on real detector data later on. This includes the detailed description of the detector geometry, the expected data formats, sophisticated clustering algorithms and the integration of the MVD reconstruction algorithms in the track reconstruction.
