Logarithmic transmittance and statistical characteristics on neutron computed tomography

Creators

Description

A new quantity log-transmittance will be defined as a parameter to evaluate neutron tomograms. Statistical characteristics of the log-transmittance are analyzed as functions of signal intensities taken into consideration the effects of scattered components. It is shown that the quantity should be valuable to evaluate an image quality related to a size and an effective total macroscopic cross section of an object on reconstructed CT values. (orig.)
