Possible explanation for doubly peaked profiles at the divertor target in JET

  • 1. EURATOM/UKAEA Fusion Association, Culham Science Centre, Culham, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, OX14 3EA (United Kingdom)

Description

An explanation for the observation of doubly peaked target profiles in JET is presented. It is based on the similarity between experimental results and EDGE2D code modelling with drifts included. The appearance of doubly peaked target profiles is related to the divergence of the radial ExB drift particle flow along the surface of the target. (author)
