Description

The process of thermal molybdenum trisulphide decomposition in the air and nitrogen drawing in the methods of thermogravimetry, X-ray phase and chemical analyses have been investigated. It has been found that molybdenum trisulphide transformation into trioxide during heating in the air occurs through the production not only of amorphous and crystal disulphide, but partially also of molybdenum dioxide. In the inert medium the decomposition is terminated at the stage of production of molybdenum disulphide resistant up to 1275 K
