Effect of e-e collisions on electron distribution function during ECH plasma breakdown in TJ-II

  • 1. Laboratorio Nacional de Fusion, Asociacion Euratom-CIEMAT para Fusin, Madrid (Spain)

Description

The authors describe a kinetic model for second harmonic ECRH plasma breakdown in stellarators, where the energy source of the breakdown process is the nonlinear interaction of the cold deeply trapped electrons with a perpendicularly propagating electromagnetic wave. From this model a deterministic nonlinear equation system governing the time evolution of the particle densities is derived. Using the electron densities modified by electron-electron collisions the time evolution of the energy distribution functions is derived. (HSI)
