Dissociative electron attachment
Description
Electron-molecule collisions are studied in which molecules dissociate by dissociative attachment of electrons to one of the fragments. The formation of negative ions is a resonant process. Fragment energy distribution and angular distribution of negative ion fragments in collisions with biatomic and triatomic molecules are outlined. The physics is described of the process of dissociative attachment of the electron. (S.P.)
