Fast decimal counter with the indication in the CAMAC standard

  • 1. Joint Inst. for Nuclear Research, Dubna (USSR)

Description

A decimal counter with indication to the CAMAC standard is described. The counter consists of two parts each having 4 decades, with separate shapers of input signals. There are also a control circuit and a unit realizing the CAMAC functions. The first decade is based on emitter-coupling integrated circuits. The remaining units are realized on transistor logical circuits. The first decade is brought over to the binary-decimal code by a special decoder. Indication is effected by miniature filament lamps. The switch is either ''one counter to 108'' or ''2x104''. The unit has a stop for overfilling the given decade with the aid of a quadrupled key switch. The schematic diagrams for a high-speed shaper and the first decade with the binary-decimal code decoder, the shaper of the second part of the counter, and the transistor logical circuit decade are presented. The input resistance of the counter is 50 Ohm; speed of operation, 120 MHz; and maximum capacity, 108
