Geodesic motion and confinement in Goedel's universe
Description
A complete study of geodesic motion in Goedel's universe, using the method of the Effective Potential is presented. It then emerges a clear physical picture of free motion and its stability in this universe. Geodesics of a large class have finite intervals in which the particle moves back in time (dt/ds<0) without violation of causality. Goedel's geometry produces the important property of confinement for a large class of geodesics. This property to discuss the construction of a gravitational container is used. This structure is highly stable, since there is no singularity in its interior, and independent of the energy of the particles contained in it. (Author)

Apresenta-se um estudo completo do movimento Geodesico no universo de Goedel, usando o metodo do potencial efetivo. Tem-se entao, um quadro fisico claro do movimento livre e sua estabilidade nesse universo. A Geodesica de uma classe grande tem intervalos finitos no qual as particulas se movem de volta no tempo (dt/ds<0) sem violacao de casualidade. A geometria de Goedel fornece a propriedade importante de confinamento para uma classe grande de geodesicas. Usa-se essa propriedade para discutir a construcao de um pacote de gravidade. Essa estrutura e altamente estavel, desde que nao haja singularidade no seu interior, e independa da energia das particulas contidas dentro dele. (M.A.F.)Files
