Description

The purpose of this study of disposable plastic syringes and needles was to evaluate levels of radioresistance of sporeforming and nonsporeforming bacteria in order to provide information on their use as microbial indicators of production sterilization. Syringes and needles contaminated with radioresistant sporeforming and nonsporeforming organisms exposed to various dose rates and radiation dose levels from 0.5 to 3.5 Mrads in ''closed'' and ''open'' radiation systems were evaluated
