The separation of heavy lanthanides from yttrium by ion-exchange method using tiron as an eluent

  • 1. Dept. of Rare Earths, Faculty of Chemistry, A. Mickiewicz Univ., 60-780 Poznan

Description

Tiron (pyrocatechol-3, 5-disulphonic acid) forms with rare earth elements stable and water-soluble complexes. In this study the solution of Tiron was applied as an eluent in ion-exchange separation process of rare earth elements. The investigation on separation of small quantities of heavy lanthanides (for example Ho, Dy and Gd) from yttrium were carried out
