Description
Some of the most recent experimental results on the Giant Dipole Resonance (GDR) in hot nuclei are presented. All data on the γ-decay of the GDR show a saturation of the apparent width and a saturation of the yield. However, it is not clear until now if these effects are related to a GDR width which either saturates or increases continuously with the excitation energy. Very recent data associated to selected exit channels could help to clarify the situation. (authors). 14 refs., 7 figs
