Application of thermoluminescent dosimeters in cobalt-60 beam therapy

Description
Using lithium fluoride (T L D-100) dosimeters, central axis depth dose measurements were done for different field sizes of a teletherapy CO60 beam in a Mix-D phantom. Using the above dosimeters isodose curves were generated for special modified fields resulting from the use of wedge filters and slit field blocks for different types of cobalt units. Use of these dosimeters for checks of radiation field sizes on teletherapy units are also demonstrated. (author)
