Description
The base of health hazard risk assesment is the knowledge of biological effects, and the determination of the relation of dose, exposure and concentration as well as dose-response relationships. The elements of risk estimation are discussed. The factors modifying radiation impacts include physical effects (LET, DDREF), chemical effects, biological effects. The genetic stability for ionizing radiation is considered. The responses of biological systems to modifying effects are presented. (R.P.)
