Position of sea fishing and sea farm committees with respect to the development of marine renewable energies - December 2015 + December 2020
Description
Whereas projects of development of marine renewable energies (MRE) will have consequences in terms of degradation and modification of sea habitats, and in terms of use conflicts for professionals (loss of fishing areas), these two publications (2015 and 2020) state the position of these professionals who are aware of the stakes of these developments, are not opposed to them under some conditions, and prefer to be actors rather than to suffer of these developments. They ask for a mutual organisation of sea activities through a strategic planning of the maritime space, for a managed and progressive development of these energies, for a guarantee of the coexistence of MRE projects with fishing activities. An appendix contains recommendations made by fishing and sea farm committees for the arrangement and technical characteristics of MRE farms (for all MREs and for offshore grounded wind projects), for preliminary studies and their follow-up, for the establishment of co-habitation rules and information procedures, for compensatory and accompanying measures, and for the case of sea farms
