Fusion cross section of 16O + 48Ca, 40Ca + 48Ca and 40Ca + 60Ni using Skyrme force
Description
Ion-ion potentials for 16O + 48Ca, 40Ca + 48Ca and 40Ca + 60Ni are calculated at several centre of mass energies using the Skyrme force including the spin-orbit term therein in the framework of energy density formalism. The purpose of this paper is to determine the change in the ion-ion potential due to the inclusion of the spin-orbit term, which is generally neglected by others, and its effect on the fusion cross sections. It is observed that the resultant potential is flattened and fusion cross sections are enhanced in the range between 100 and 200 mb in the above cases. (author)
