The patient safety for a momentum of progress - Securing the medication circuit in nuclear medicine. Bulletin for radiotherapy professionals, March 2020

After an indication of data illustrating the number of significant events in radiation protection in nuclear medicine, this publication discusses the occurrence of events related to the administration of radio-pharmaceutical medications: errors related to the medication circuit, or to the patient course. It synthetically defines good practices of pharmaceutical validation, of preparation of radio-pharmaceutical medications, of communication between team's professionals, of training of healthcare teams, and of administration of the radio-pharmaceutical medications. It briefly presents the innovative initiative of the Martinique CHU with the introduction of a bar code to secure the medication circuit.
