Emission from neptunyl ions in the near IR

  • 1. Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos, New Mexico 87545 (United States)

Description

With recent improvements in near infrared detectors, we have initiated investigations into actinide luminescence in this spectral region and have begun by searching for emission from f1 neptunyl(VI). Our hope is that, once developed, f-f luminescence might serve as a tool for studying actinide speciation and ultimately find utility as an analytical chemistry tool
