Further developments in water-soluble myelography 1974-1977. Chapter 10

  • 1. Sheffield Univ. (UK)

Description

A previous review published in 1975 discussed the water-soluble contrast medium meglumine iocarmate (Dimer X). A new contrast medium, metrizamide (Amipaque) of substantially lower neurotoxicity has since become the medium of choice, the radiographic technique has been modified and the range of the examination has been extended to include the whole of the spinal cord. The water-soluble myelographic technique is described, and safety aspects and the frequency of complications following its use are discussed. (author)
