Magnetic behavior of U(3d)2Ge2 intermetallic compounds

Description
We have prepared and studied a series of U(3d)2Ge2 compounds with 3d=Mn, Fe (single crystal), Co, Ni and Cu. In addition to the previously reported magnetization and resistivity measurements, we have now measured the specific heat of this complete series. An initial attempt is made to explain the specific heat in terms of electronic, phonon and magnetic contributions. (orig.)
