Description
A review on the different radiological techniques applicable in the diagnostics and differentiation of malignant lymphomas is presented. As a beginning classification, stages and frequency of appearance at different sites are summarized. The radiological techniques used in the diagnosis are detailed in the order of their importance: ultrasonography, computerized tomography, x-ray lymphography, isotope lymphography. The indications, contraindications, advantages, disadvantages and special features of each imaging procedure are discussed. Diagnostic schemes are recommended for the sequence of investigations in the cases of the different localizations of the tumour. Finally, the possibilities of treatment are briefly mentioned. (L.E.)
