Phonon spectra of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 depending on temperature

  • 1. Lab. of Neutron Physics, JINR, 141980 Dubna (USSR)

Description

This paper reports inelastic neutron scattering (INS) on (2 2 1 2) phase of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 ceramics investigated at 290, 80 and 10 K. Low frequency peculiarities of generalized phonon density of states (PDOS) at about 6, 10, 14, 18, and 21 meV are significantly different from those observed in Y-123 compounds in the same frequency range. The lowest peculiarity splits into two bands with decreasing temperature. The higher frequency part of PDOS contains much broader bands at about 35, 57, 68 and 87 meV and within the authors' resolution looks quite similar to the PDOS of Y-123 ceramics
