Antiproton-deuteron interaction near threshold

A description of the anti pd interaction near the elastic threshold is presented for large anti NN annihilation cross sections. A set of the Faddeev equations for the anti pd interaction amplitudes is derived. A solution of these equations yields to the determination of the total and elastic anti pd scattering cross section near the threshold and the missing mass spectrum for the anti pd annihilation process. The accuracy of the impulse approximation for missing mass spectra calculation and the contribution from the pion rescattering on the spectator nucleon are de-- termined. Resonances are predicted in the 2 N anti N system below the elastic anti pd threshold
