Efficacy of intracavitary gamma-therapy of cervix uteri cancer according to the afterloading principle and generally accepted method of irradiation

Description
The results of treatment in 362 patients with cervix uteri cancer by a combined radiation method were analyzed. Intracavitary gamma-therapy according to the simple afterloading principle was used in 209 patients, in 153 patients - a generally accepted method. The use of intracavitary gamma-therapy according to the afterloading principle ensured the increase of a two-year survial rate and decrease of the frequency of radiation reactions, in comparison with the results of treatment by a generally accepted method
