Effects of photoperiodism on the metabolism of carbon compounds and the migration of these products in tobacco
Description
This research thesis addressed the influence of photoperiodism on migrations. The author more particularly studied migrations of carbon-compound metabolism products by using a tobacco leaf in presence of 14CO2, and which thus contained a high quantity of radioactive compounds. Some experiments were performed on short durations (few hours), and others on longer durations (15 days). As far as the first ones were concerned, the author studied the content of the petiole and of the terminal bud, and the first reactions of integration of carbon 14 compounds of the sap in the leaf. As far as the second type of experiments is concerned, the author measured the quantities of radioactive products migrating towards the terminal bud
