Excitation of an upper hybrid plasma wave with a negative dispersion by a relativistic electron beam

Description
The possible excitation of an upper hybrid wave with a negative dispersion by a relativistic electron bram in a plasma is analyzed. The conditions for the excitation of such a wave in a plasma resonator, the frequency of the wave, and the threshold beam current are all found. The efficiency at which the beam energy is converted into the energy of the upper-hybrid wave is estimated for a Cerenkov excitation mechanism
