Description
The formulation and technological conditions of immobilization of simulated wastes is presented, such as powders of sodium nitrate and sodium meta-borate and spent ion exchange resin, with unsaturated polyester. The performance of solidified products is given also. The study indicated that, the technology of immobilization of the radioactive wastes mentioned above unsaturated polyester was simple and easy to operate. The waste content in solidified products could be up to 50-60% (wt). The solidified products obtained were hard, and dense with a smooth surface and possessed good physical and leaching resistant properties
