The molecular dynamic of N H4 H2 P O4 by neutron spectroscopy

Description
The generalized one-phonon density of states on ADP (N H4 H2 P O4) from inelastic neutron scattering spectra at 90, 103, 133, 155, 196, 248, 298 K was determined. The energy transitions can be divided in three parts. The first part is connected with the normal modes of the lattice. The second part displays the peak due to the hindered rotations of the ammonium ion. THe last part of the spectrum is connected with intramolecular vibrations. The dynamical aspects of the paraelectric-antiferroelectric phase transition at 148 K are discussed. (Author)
