Utilisation of guided waves pipe screening of hard to access pipes

  • 1. Oilfield Pipeline Inspection Sdn Bhd, Subang Jaya (Malaysia)

Description

Bund penetrating/buried and insulated piping provides a challenge for inspection due to their lack of access. One of the methods that have been developed recently is the Guided Wave technique, an ultrasonic based inspection technique that allows for UT inspection over a distance. This paper describes the work conducted by Oilfield Pipeline Inspection at a refinery in Australia, utilising the guided waves techniques for inspection of hard to access piping. (Author)
